New head of the church was elected

At the meeting of ministers and laity of our church held October 1, 2022, Alexander Frants was elected to the post of General Ordinary (President of the General Synod), also performing the duties of an archbishop.

Alexander Alexandrovich Frants accepted the ministry in the Lutheran church in 2001. In 2017, after the resignation of the Bishop of the ELC AC, he was appointed as a Bishop by the decision of the Central Consistory. In 2019, at the General Synod, he was elected as an Archbishop of the ELC AC.
